VOTING INFORMATION
Election Day is Tuesday November 5th, on that day you must vote at your designated polling place. To find out your polling place use the NC Voter Lookup Tool. During early voting you may vote at any early voting site.
EARLY VOTING
Wake County operates early voting sites around the county. A Wake County resident may vote at any early voting site during early voting. Voting sites may be found at the website for the Wake County Board of Elections.

How do I register to vote?

Who may vote at early voting locations?
Any eligible Wake County voter may vote at any Wake County early voting location.
May I update my name or address at an early voting location?
Yes. You may update your name and address before voting.
If you moved 30 or more days before Election Day, you will receive the ballot style of your new address.
If you moved fewer than 30 days before Election Day, you will receive the ballot style of your old address.
I missed the voter registration deadline. May I register and vote at an early voting location?
Yes. Eligible individuals may register and vote during the early voting period.

Do I need an ID to vote?
Yes! In NC all registered voters will need to provide a valid ID at the polling place. For more information on accepted forms of identification.
I am a college student. What are my options for registering and voting?
College students may register to vote in the county/state of their home address or in the county/state where they are attending college. Learn about Election Day, absentee by mail, and early voting options for college students here.
How can I determine whether I’m registered to vote?

Why are the lines so long at early voting locations?
Lines are generally not long during the first days of early voting. Voting lines are the longest on the final 3 days of early voting. Wake Board of Elections has a Line Tracker so you can determine which early voting site is fastest.
I heard that if I vote at an early voting location, my vote may not get counted. Is that true?
No. As long as you vote at a Wake County Early Voting Site your vote will be counted on Election Day along with the ballots cast in the polling places. If the polls close while you are in line stay in line. A poll worker will mark the end of the line to allow all folks who were in line the ability to vote.
Can any registered Wake County Voter vote absentee by mail?
Yes! Any registered voter can vote by mail! You will have to fill out a form to request your absentee ballot, then have 2 witnesses (or a notary) to sign your ballot before mailing it to the Board of Elections. You must provide the stamp.
